New Post-16 ‘Cephas’ Programme in Post-Primary Schools

The ‘Cephas Programme’ is a new Faith Formation Programme for post-16 students being delivered through Catholic schools in Down and Connor. It is based on the vitality, energy and vision that young adults possess. They are the ‘well-spring’ of the future Church and as such they require the time, space and appropriate learning and teaching opportunities to have their spiritual and faith development nurtured.

This month, the Church celebrates the ‘Season of Creation. In response, two Year 13 students in a local school, St Dominic’s Grammar School, joined their teacher Dr Rainey at Clonard Monastery in Belfast to take part in the liturgy. The pupils presented some of their work relating to the ‘Cephas Programme’.

In this programme, throughout their studies, Year 13 and 14 students will be challenged to put their ‘faith in action’, reaching out to those in the community who are marginalised and most in need.

Well done to these students for volunteering and representing their school so well.
