The Living Church office was established in December 2011 by Bishop Noel Treanor and was tasked with developing a Diocesan Plan which was presented at the Diocesan Congress in September 2013. The team was established in May 2012. The office has a wide range of remits that fall under the 5 themes of the Pastoral Plan. Current activities of the Living Church office include;
Pastoral Councils. Supporting the development and formation of our Parish Pastoral Councils and Diocesan Pastoral Council.
Ministry of Welcome. Providing the necessary formation and support to establish Ministry of Welcome teams in our parishes.
Faith & Life Convention. Organising the annual faith and life convention as a forum for Catholics and others to explore current issues in the light of the Gospel.
Faith Development. Providing training in the delivery of local programmes of teaching, helping people to understand, live and share our faith. Providing training for those involved in lay liturgical ministry such as Proclamation of the Word and Children’s Liturgy.
Communication. Providing support for the organisation and delivery of our Clergy Conferences and Parish Secretary formation days.
