{"id":1611,"date":"2022-11-29T10:17:44","date_gmt":"2022-11-29T10:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.downandconnor.org\/safeguarding\/?page_id=1611"},"modified":"2025-03-20T11:12:08","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T11:12:08","slug":"types-of-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.downandconnor.org\/safeguarding\/types-of-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Types of Training &#8211; Safeguarding Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h1>Level 1 Child Safeguarding Information Session<\/h1>\n<p>This session is for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anyone who is assisting with any groups of children\/young people who are under the age of 18 years.<\/li>\n<li>Members of Parish Safeguarding Committees<\/li>\n<li>All Church Personnel\/Volunteers who need a basic awareness of Safeguarding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*This training must be refreshed every 3 years*<\/p>\n<h1>Level 2 Child Safeguarding Training<\/h1>\n<p>This required training for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All Clergy and Religious, who are in active ministry with children\/young people<\/li>\n<li>Parish Safeguarding Committee Chair Leader\/Deputy Leaders of any parish group with children\/young people under 18 years in attendance<\/li>\n<li>Choir leaders of choirs with children\/young people under 18 years in attendance<\/li>\n<li>Sacristans if their role involves supervision of children\/young people under the age of 18 years<\/li>\n<li>Safeguarding Support Officers<\/li>\n<li>Members of the Diocesan Safeguarding Committee<\/li>\n<li>Advisory Panel Members<\/li>\n<li>Diocesan Support Person<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*This training must be refreshed every 3 years*<\/p>\n<h1>Level 2 Child Safeguarding Refresher Training<\/h1>\n<div>These sessions are shorter in length (approx 3 hrs) and are for those who have already attended the full day Level 2 training previously.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The session aims are to:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide an opportunity to reflect on some of the challenges you are facing in safeguarding today and encourage a culture of safeguarding within our Church.<\/li>\n<li>To refresh your knowledge in relation to recognising, responding and reporting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Young Leaders<\/h1>\n<p>This session is for:<\/p>\n<p>This session is 3 hours in length and covers the same content as the information sessions but has been designed for young people who are taking on a leadership role with other children or young people<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Level 1 Child Safeguarding Information Session This session is for: Anyone who is assisting with any groups of children\/young people who are under the age of 18 years.
