The documents below contain the key training information identified for all Priests/ Religious working and ministering within the Diocese of Down and Connor.(including visiting priests)

All Priests/ Religious working in the Diocese of Down and Connor must attend the 4 hour training programme entitled:

Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People within the context of parish life.

Priests who are members of the parish CCC must also attend:

Module One – The Role and Function of a Parish Child Care Committee

Module Two – Best Practice in Recruitment and Selection of parish staff and volunteers and,

Module Three – Attendance at a Parish Information Session (for further details of this Module see under Training for Parish Groups and Volunteers)

Priests may also attend the Recording Information workshop (outlined below)
