ST MARY’S UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

St Mary’s is the only Catholic University College in Northern Ireland. The College’s primary role is to serve the educational needs of the Catholic community and of society in general, principally by educating competent and caring teachers. The College also offers a BA in Liberal Arts and a range of inservice courses for teachers and educational professionals.
 
The Chairman of the Board of Governors is, ex-officio, the Bishop of the Diocese of Down and Connor. The Principal is Professor Peter B Finn. There are 56 lecturers, 1000 full-time students.
Mass is celebrated in the College chapel on weekdays during term time at 1.05pm (Thursday 12.05pm) and 5.15pm. Visitors are welcome.

QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY OF BELFAST

The Catholic Chaplaincy at Queen’s University is a vibrant, Christ-centred community of faith and friendship.  Located on Elmwood Avenue at the heart of Campus,  Chaplaincy provides faith and pastoral supports to a student population of 25,000 and a global network of more than 200,000 alumni.  Chaplains facilities include a Chapel, Food Bar, Library and Garden, as well as study and social space.  Regular liturgies, faith events and social time are open to students, staff, alumni and friends.  The University is served by one full-time Chaplain, Rev Dominic McGrattan, who also assists in nearby St Brigid’s Parish.

THE UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER
 
 
The University is served by two Catholic Chaplains, one based on the Coleraine Campus and Fr Terence Howard SJ is based on the Jordanstown campus.
 
COLERAINE CAMPUS
Mass in the University: Mass on Sundays during term at 8pm in St Mary’s Star of the Sea, Portstewart. Holy Days at 1.20 & 5.20pm in the Octagon; on Mondays and Thursdays at 5.20pm in the Chaplaincy Prayer Room (L102).

JORDANSTOWN CAMPUS
On the Jordanstown Campus, the Chaplaincy team is based at the Chaplains’ Suite (5F01) which is on the Mall in the main University building.
 
Mass in the University: Mass Tues 8.40am and Friday 12.20am in the Prayer Room 1D05.
In addition to the University services St. James Parish Church, Whiteabbey is within easy walking distance of the campus. Sunday Masses: Vigil 6pm, 11.30am.
