Lourdes – Down and Connor Diocesan Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage Programme:

Our pilgrimage includes the celebration of Masses, including at the Grotto; celebration of the Sacrament of the Sick and Reconciliation; participation in the Blessed Sacrament and Candlelight processions and the Way of the Cross. Pilgrims staying in Hotels will have the opportunity to visit Bartrès (additional cost) and sick pilgrims staying in the Accueil will be provided with the opportunity to bathe in the waters should they wish. There is plenty of free time for your own personal prayer, to relax, and to explore the town of Lourdes.

D&C Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2020 – information

Sick Pilgrims:

Pilgrims who require medical, nursing and/or personal care are advised to apply to stay in the Accueil Notre Dame, where they will be cared for by our team of volunteer doctors, nurses and helpers – we cannot provide this care for pilgrims choosing to stay in hotels. All applications will be assessed by our Chief Medical Officer who will confirm your suitability to travel and the level of care needed.

We advise hotel pilgrims who have reduced mobility (for whatever reason) to request the use of a wheelchair in Lourdes along with the assistance of a member of our enthusiastic Youth Team, who will help you to participate fully in our programme and offer a friendly face during your time in Lourdes.

Youth Team:

This year we will have 100 places for young people aged 16-25 to travel as members of the pilgrimage staff, befriending and assisted pilgrims. Our full youth programme includes induction and team building as well as 7 days in Lourdes.

Please note that the Youth Team application form should be printed on A4 paper, completed and returned by post.   E mail copies of the application forms will not be accepted.
