DOWN AND CONNOR CLERICAL APPOINTMENTS

August 2012

 

Having considered the pastoral needs of the people of the Diocese, Bishop Noel Treanor has made the following appointments which will take effect as of the weekend of 8/9 September 2012 :

 

Fr Aidan Kerr                        PP Glenarm, to be PP Larne, covering Glenarm and Larne pastoral area

 

Fr Dermot  McKay                PP Larne,  to be  PP Glenarm, covering Glenarm and Larne pastoral area

 

Fr Michael McConville        to assist at weekends in Glenarm and Larne pastoral area

 

Fr Eugene O’Neill                 CC Glengormley, to be PP Killyleagh

 

Fr Brendan Mulhall CSsR    CC Downpatrick, to be Administrator ad interim Holy Trinity parish, Belfast

 

Fr Sean Cahill                to be CC Upper Mourne (Kilkeel)

 

Fr Anthony Fitzsimons   CC Upper Mourne, to be CC Downpatrick    

 

Fr Damian McCaughan to be CC, St Mary’s on the Hill, Glengormley

 

Fr Conor McGrath         to be CC, Antrim

 

Fr Aloysius Lumala       to be Assistant Priest at St Teresa’s, Belfast                   

 

Fr Robert Sloan                    to be CC, St Agnes parish, Belfast

 

Fr Gerard Fox     to be Director of Formation at Diocesan Seminary in addition to being Chaplain at City Hospital, Belfast

 

Fr Colm Curran          PP Killyleagh, to pursue further studies at Dalgan Park, Navan

 

Fr Michał Rosengart        to assist at St John’s parish, Belfast

 

Fr John Burns                 CC Larne, to assist at St Oliver Plunkett, Belfast

 

Fr Marius Dabrowski           CC  St John’s returns to his diocese of Warmia in Poland. We thank him and his diocese for his work and service  over six years in St John’s parish and his care for the Polish community.

 

Fr Robert Markuszewski     CC St Agnes returns to Poland where he will continue post-graduate studies at the University of Lublin. We thank him and his diocese for his three years of service and work in St Agnes parish and his work with the Polish community

 

Together with Bishops Farquhar and McKeown, I should like to record my thanks once again to all our priest colleagues affected by these appointments. We thank them for their cooperation. We wish them God’s blessing, good health and fulfilment in their new appointments.
